We are Tony and Leah and we are from Kentucky. Tony is 29 and I am 27. We are a Interracial
couple (African American and Caucasian) and we love to spend time together and time with our
families. We met and became good friends in 1997, but officially started dating in June 1998.
We were married in December 2001. When we met we both realized we were too young to get
married right away so we agreed to wait until we were a little older. During that time we were
both able to grow and develop as individuals so we were better prepared to be a married couple.
We love animals and have Bengal cats (domesticated Asian Leopards) and Sheltie dogs. So far
they are our only “children”.
These are from when we
were dating (1998-2001)...
When I met Tony I was only 17 years old. I wasn’t looking for a relationship but he really liked
me and was quite persistent. I love the way we work together as a team and aren’t afraid to
laugh at ourselves. When we were dating we would play basketball as a group with our friends.
When he would try to steal the ball from me I would tell him that God doesn’t like thieves, he
would apologize and give the ball back every time. We both are very passionate about sports and
enjoy fishing (that may be why he married me). He said I was the only girl he knew that would
bait my own hook without help. He is very kind and respectful with me and everyone he meets.
He opens doors for me, brings me flowers without needing hints, holds my hand when we walk
together, and he even rubs my neck when I am tired. He is respectful in the way he talks to me,
he never raises his voice or cusses. He always offers to give up his chair if any ladies are still
standing. I love Tony because he enjoys mentoring and teaching young people and is a musical
genius. He plays the cello and sings with a strong, deep voice that is awesome.
I love the way Tony makes me feel.
I enjoy playing board games like Monopoly or Scrabble and poker games like Texas Hold 'em. I
enjoy watching movies and crime shows like CSI. My favorite vegetable is green beans, with
yellow squash coming in a close second. My favorite dessert is banana pudding. I work in my
family quilt business and get to travel occasionally, which I enjoy. I want to be a parent because
I love children and have been told I am very good with them, that I "look natural" with children.
When I met Leah I was only 19. Leah caught my attention right away because of her charming,
mature nature and beautiful smile.  She has 2 brothers and 1 sister, all older, and along with her
mom and dad, they form a very close-knit family. In fact, a very large portion of her mom’s side of the
family all lives in a valley just outside of our city, all of whom Leah knows and stays in contact with.
That impressed me, one that she had a very close family, and two that she could even remember all
those people.(Her mom has 6 brothers, her grandmother has 13 siblings, most still alive – plus
cousins, uncles, etc…) Also, Leah was (and is) very smart. She is a very loyal wife and is committed to
our marriage and family.  She has the ability to put things together and make things happen.  She
enjoys sports, good movies, playing cards, & board games. We’ve traveled to several places together.
During our 3+ courtship and now 6+ year marriage, I have come to know, respect and love her
dearly. We are a team. I know everything what she thinks – okay, maybe not everything... But I do
love her very much and I love the fact that she loves and respects me too.

I love to play active sports like basketball, football, soccer, even golf! I love to have friends over and
play cards. I enjoy playing the cello. I really enjoyed being in the orchestra in college to play the
cello. My favorite vegetable is corn. My favorite dessert is cookies and cream ice cream sandwiched
between 2 large chocolate wafers. I work for myself in construction. I remodel, add additions, and
repair houses. I love to be around kids. I love to teach kids new things and watch their expression as
they learn. I love to play games with the kids. Kids teach me a lot too. I want to be a father so I can
watch them grow and learn everyday.
